What the HACK?

HACKATHON MMXIX – YEAR 7

hackathonCLT celebrates its 7th anniversary by going even bigger, bolder and brasher. The event kicks off Friday March 22, 2019 at 5:00 PM at DISCOVERY PLACE SCIENCE in uptown Charlotte and continues overnight, culminating with a finale on March 23, 2019.

hackathonCLT is the biggest hack-your-brains-off geek fest in the Queen City. The stakes are massive, the data BIG, and the problems incredibly interesting.

Prizes

HACKATHON MMXIX will have over $30,000 up for grabs. We will announce specific prizes related to the categories at the kickoff party on March 22nd.

Swag

Every year, we do a custom hackathonCLT shirt, and this year, we take it to a whole new level. All our sponsors also bring killer SWAG to add to every participant’s stash.

Preparing for Competition

hackathonCLT is a team event, although you are welcome to compete as an individual. Max size is 3. We recommend teams be comprised of 3 main functions: a Designer, a Coder and a Presenter.

Designer

The Designer is responsible for making the solution visually appealing with a logical user experience.

Coder

The Coder is responsible for creating the underlying algos and code that make the solution actually function.

Presenter

The Presenter is responsible for crafting the story of the solution & sharing it in a compelling way.
